BEIJING: Shipments of liquefied natural gas to China fell to a three-year low in 2025, official data showed on Sunday.
China’s 2025 LNG imports fell 10.6% from the year before to 68.43 million metric tons, according to the General Administration of Customs.
The customs data also showed that December LNG imports surged 19.9% year-on-year to 8.48 million tons.
Total natural gas imports, which also include pipeline supplies, slid 2.8% year-on-year to 127.87 million tons, down from a record high of 131.69 million tons in 2024.
China’s aviation fuel exports rose 15% year-on-year to 21.76 million tons in 2025. December exports stood at 2.21 million metric tons, an annual increase of 71.5%.
The customs data also showed China’s diesel exports fell 16.7% in 2025 to 6.66 million tons, while December exports were 430,000 tons, up 483.4% year-on-year.
Gasoline exports for the year fell 17.6% to 8.02 million tons.
Total refined oil exports, which also include marine bunker fuel, shed 0.2% to 58.02 million tons in 2025.
