Over 4.9m mobile SIMs issued on expired CNICs to be deactivated in phases

ISLAMABAD - The Ministry of Interior, on the recommendation of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), has directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to initiate a phased process for deactivation of all cellular phone SIMs issued on cancelled, expired or impounded computerized national identity cards.
