During the hearing, the defence counsel informed the court that a settlement had been reached between Najaf Hameed and the complainant. On the basis of the compromise, the defence requested the court to confirm the interim bail. The Assistant Director Legal opposed the confirmation of bail on behalf of the FIA. However, the complainant appeared before the court and recorded a statement confirming that a settlement had been reached with Najaf Hameed. The complainant further stated that he did not wish to pursue the case any further.
In its order, the court observed that without examining the merits of the case, Najaf Hameed’s bail was being confirmed. The court also ruled that the bail would stand confirmed on the same surety bonds that had been submitted for interim bail.
