Secretary Industries and Production was informed that clusters and exhibitors related to agro-food and processing, textiles, handicraft, surgical instruments, light engineering, leather, honey, furniture, marble and granite, and gems and jewellery have been selected in a transparent manner through certified trade bodies.

Secretary MOIP said that the aim of holding this expo is to strengthen the country’s micro, small and medium enterprise ecosystem, expand market access and position SME clusters as a competitive pillar of the national economy as per SME development vision of the Prime Minister being executed by the SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan and SMEDA Board Members. The three-day expo having more than 200 SMEs representing 30-plus clusters from all over the country will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The event will also have dialogue and discussion sessions and an awards ceremony as recognition of SMEs contributing to Pakistan’s economic growth.

A distinguishing feature of the event is entrepreneurial activities aimed at clinching B2B partnerships, subcontracting opportunities and linkages with global buyers, by bringing manufacturers, buyers, policymakers and international stakeholders under one roof with a special focus on the women-led enterprises and micro businesses.

It is notable that the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Industries & Production Haroon Akhtar Khan and the Secretary MoIP Saif Anjum are directly supervising the arrangements to make the event a real reflection of the SME development approach of the present government.

A robust participation of corporate buyers, procurement heads, regulatory stakeholders, financial institutions, foreign missions and the general public is expected to visit the SME Clusters’ Pavilions during three-day exhibition.
