KARACHI: K-Electric (KE) continued efforts to improve recovery and organised a customer facilitation camp in Azam Basti. The camp attracted over 1,500 customers and helped recover dues worth PKR 7.6 million. Through these camps, KE provides on-the-spot support for bill payments, payment plans, meter-related queries, and new connection applications, helping the community settle outstanding dues.

The Azam Basti area is covered by 3 KE feeders with a total consumer base of more than 15,000, and outstanding dues that have now swelled to PKR 866 million. Almost half of electricity units in the area are lost to theft or remain unpaid despite repeated kunda removal drives.

K-Electric spokesperson Imran Rana said, “The Azam Basti is one such area with a history of non-payments against KE bills while electricity theft is also rampant. This is the third such camp KE has organised in the area this fiscal year, bringing utility services closer to our customers’ doorsteps. This initiative underlines KE’s commitment to address recovery challenges, reduce distribution losses, and enhance the reliability of Karachi’s power supply.”
