Maryam approves digital monitoring for livestock services

LAHORE: In a major step towards strengthening, modernizing, and enhancing transparency in the monitoring framework of the livestock & dairy development department Punjab, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a key agreement between the livestock department and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) during a cabinet meeting.

Under the agreement, all services of the livestock department will be integrated into a comprehensive digital monitoring system. Special emphasis will be placed on real-time monitoring of the performance, availability, and outreach of mobile veterinary services through an advanced digital mechanism, aimed at ensuring timely, efficient, and quality service delivery to the public.The system will also be linked with the “Livestock Connect” digital platform, further enhancing service efficiency and public facilitation.

In another significant initiative focused on the welfare of field staff, the Chief Minister Punjab has also approved a fixed monthly travelling allowance (TA) of Rs 4,000 for veterinary assistants and artificial insemination technicians. This measure is expected to ease operational constraints faced by field workers and contribute to improved field performance.

On the occasion, Provincial Minister Karmani and Secretary Livestock Ahmad Aziz Tarar congratulated the field staff serving across Punjab, reaffirming the government of Punjab’s commitment to aligning the livestock department with modern technology while prioritizing the welfare and capacity building of its workforce.
