SECP authorizes Executive Director to hear appeals of cos

ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has authorized the Executive Director to hear appeals of companies, other than listed and licensed companies, against the orders passed or upheld by the SECP Registrar.

In this regard, the SECP has issued an S.R.O.56 (I)/2026 on Thursday.

Any person aggrieved by any order passed under Companies Act may, within thirty days of such order, prefer an appeal to the registrar designated by the Commission against the order passed by an additional registrar, a joint registrar, an additional joint registrar, a deputy registrar or an assistant registrar or such other officer as may be designated by the Commission.

According to the notification, in exercise of powers conferred by clause (b) of Section 480 read with Section 510 of the Companies Act, the SECP, in super session of its earlier notification S.R.O. 1170(I)/2020 dated November 02, 2020, hereby authorize the Executive Director (LRD) to hear an appeal for the purposes of said clause (b) of said section 480 for companies other than listed and licensed companies except the companies licensed under section 42 of the Act, it added.
