The death toll from a suspected suicide bombing at a wedding ceremony near Qureshi Mor in Dera Ismail Khan’s suburban area has risen to seven, while several others are critically injured.

The blast, which occurred late last night, targeted a gathering in the outskirts of the city, Aaj News reported.

Police said the deceased have been identified as Advocate Abdul Majeed Laagri Mehsud, Waheed Jigri, Rehmanullah, Shehzad Abdulai, Inayatullah, and Chota Waheed. Six others, including Noor Alam Mehsud and Sohail Khan Burki, are currently undergoing treatment at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

The law enforcers have cordoned off the site and collected forensic evidence. The interior minister extended his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the deceased.

Naqvi prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He stated that the beasts targeting innocent people deserve no leniency and that such cowardly acts cannot weaken the nation’s firm resolve against terrorism.
