Several countries showing interest in expanding trade ties: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday said that several countries are showing interest in expanding trade and diplomatic relations with Pakistan.

He said this while addressing a gathering of overseas office-bearers of the PML-N. The meeting was attended by office-bearers of the PML-N in the UAE and Canada, including Ghulam Mustafa Mughal, Chairman PML-N, UAE; Pir Adnan Bodla, head of media, PML-N, Canada; Raja Muhammad Shafiq, Vice President of the PML-N, Canada, and other senior overseas leaders.

Ishaq Dar, who is also president of the PML-N’s International Affairs, said that overseas Pakistanis were a source of pride and a valuable asset for the country, adding that the government was actively working to address their problems.

Referring to the historic victory of May 9, Dar said it was a special blessing of Almighty Allah for the Pakistani nation, after which Pakistan had gained immense global respect.

Additional Secretary General of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Anusha Rehman, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the participants congratulated Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on the success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and stated that overseas Pakistanis were grateful to the prime minister and the deputy prime minister for restoring the dignity and respect of the green passport.

The participants appreciated the steps taken by PM Shehbaz Sharif and the deputy prime minister in economic and diplomatic affairs for the security and betterment of Pakistan.
